Kruger National Park

Offering nearly two million hectares of wildlife, unspoiled nature, and historical and archaeological sights it is no wonder the Kruger is one of the most visited tourist spots in South Africa. This world-renowned park is a wildlife experience like no other and offers you the best chance at seeing the Big Five up close. Camps offering you the opportunity to enjoy a traditional South African dinner while listing to the nocturnal sounds of animals such as lions, hyenas and jackal, make this a truly unique experience.

Cape Town

Cape Town is a port city on South Africa’s southwest coast. If fine-dining and beautiful sights are what you’re after, a visit to Cape Town is a must. Nestled at the foot of Table Mountain, this metropolitan city is surrounded with some of South Africa’s most beautiful and exquisite wine farms and top restaurants. A trip to Cape Town usually includes  heading to the top of Table Mountain to enjoy the spectacular views from one of the official sites of the New Seven Wonders of Nature.

Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls is located on the border of Zimbabwe and Zambia, less than a two-hour flight from Johannesburg to this African town on the mighty Zambezi river. Locals refer to the falls as Mosi-oa-Tunya, meaning “the smoke that thunders”. Watching the mist rise from the water as it rumbles over the edge, you realise this description is more than apt.

Tiger fishing, sunset houseboat cruises, day trips to the Vic Falls and even bungy jumping from the bridge connecting the two countries are all activities that add to the adventure and exhilaration of your trip. At Gateway to Africa Safaris we customise photographic trips according to your preferences, but the above mentioned are the most popular destinations. We recommend spending between three and four days at each destination to experience every location to its fullest.
